How do I migrate my existing email into my new Scouts Victoria mailbox?
Turning on an autoreply on your old email
When you get your new Scouts Victoria mailbox, we recommend setting up an auto-reply on your old email address if you were using a shared personal email address like Gmail, telling people to contact the new Scouts Victoria email address.
Here's an example auto-reply message:
Hi there,
Thank you for your email. This email address is no longer being monitored.
Please reach us/me instead, at our Scouts Victoria email address: [example@scoutsvictoria.com.au]
I'll stop using this address on [date].
Thanks,
[Your Name / Group / Section]
Migrating your old emails (optional)
If you have important emails in your old account that you'd like to keep, you can request to have them migrated to your new Scouts Victoria email address. Here's how:
- Submit a Support Ticket through the Scouts Victoria IT Helpdesk: [helpdesk.scoutsvictoria.com.au]
- In your ticket, clearly state that you'd like to migrate your old emails to your new Scouts Victoria account.
- Be sure to include both your old and new email addresses in the ticket.
- The IT team will respond with further instructions and may need some additional information to complete the migration process.
