How Scout Groups can participate in the Container Deposit Scheme (CDS)
Collecting Donations at your Group or Scout Hall (CDS Donation Point)
Scouts Victoria have worked with Return It and Vic Return to create a CDS donation point package that can be used at our Scout Halls.
The CDS Donation Points will include -
- 240L donation bins in VIC CDS Scheme colours that will be easily identifiable as being a CDS receptacle. (Note bins are a darker colour blue to that shown in the image below.)
- CDS Scheme signage that will assist donors to only leave eligible containers with your Scout Hall.

Registering your Donation Partner I.D to share with your volunteers and helpers
All Scout Groups and Formations with banking details saved in Extranet have been registered as Donation Partners with VicReturn. This is the first part in a two step process. To complete the process groups can follow the below instructions.
Step 1 - Identify which Zone Operator you will need to register with. Those that are near borders may need to register on 2 different apps and provide 2 different options to their volunteers and helpers
Step 2 - Follow the instructions provided in the below help guides to register for each network operator where you will be receiving donations -
If you are in the Return It region you will also need to link a mobile phone number. It's important to note that you can only link a mobile phone number once.
