The 2026 Victorian Junior Landcare and Biodiversity Grants are open for applications!
This program provides "funding for projects that involve and educate young people in valuing and actively caring for Victoria’s biodiversity and natural environment. These grants provide young Victorians with an opportunity to participate in biodiversity focused learning activities and/or hands-on projects."
Applications close March 27
Junior Landcare and Biodiversity Grants are an awesome way for your Scout Group to get out in nature, learn about biodiversity, and make a positive impact on our natural environment!
The key details you need to know:
- Applications close March 27 at 3pm - Don't wait till the last minute!
- Grants of up to $5,000 are available
- Project should support children and young people aged 5-18
- Grants are available in 2 Focus Areas
- "Focus Area 1: Biodiversity focused education activities: educating, involving, and engaging young people in valuing and actively caring for Victoria’s biodiversity and natural environment. "
- "Focus Area 2: Biodiversity focused on-ground projects: engaging young people to improve biodiversity through creating, enhancing, or restoring habitat for Victoria’s native plants and animals."
- Only one application per Scout Group
The program website (see above) has HEAPS more information information, advice, and helpful tools to support your Group putting in a grant application. How to Apply

The first, and most important thing to do is to read the Program Guidelines! Make sure you fully understand the grant program before submitting your application. In addition to the Program Guidelines there is heaps of information and extra resources available on the Junior Landcare website.
When you're ready, you can submit your grant application through the Junior Landcare website.
You will need some administrative details from Scouts Victoria to complete your application, including our ABN and our "Principle/Director Contact Details." You can find both of these listed in the Grants for Groups Guide (Fact Sheet).
