What is the Stronger Communities Grant Programme Round 10
The Stronger Communities Grant Programme Round 10 opened on September 21. This page is still being updated with EOI instructions for each electorate. If you can't see instructions for your electorate either contact your local MP or check back in a couple days for an update.
Don't miss the webinar on October 7 at 7pm - More information below!
The Stronger Communities Grant Programme is a Federal Government grant program providing funding for a range of community projects, including infrastructure/capital works projects. Grants between $2,500 and $20,000 are available. Up to 100% of project costs can be covered by the Programme (meaning no financial contribution is required from your Group). Maximum project cost is $50,000 and all projects must be completed by March 31, 2028.
Scouts Victoria is an eligible entity, and can act as a Project Sponsor for Scout Groups to apply. To apply, Groups will need to pick and submit an eligible project for funding. All Scout Groups, Campsites, and other Formations are strongly encouraged to apply for a Stronger Communities grant.
Federal electorates have a total funding of $150,000 each to fund local projects. A maximum of 20 projects will be funded in each electorate.
Applications are submitted in two stages:
- Stage One: Groups submit an Expressions of Interest (EOI) through their local federal Member of Parliament (MPs)
- Stage Two: Groups that are nominated by their MP will be invited to apply for a grant, sponsored by Scouts Victoria (Please note that a nomination from your MP does not guarantee you will receive a grant) - Applications close on January 19
In order to apply for a Stronger Communities grant, Groups must first submit an expression of interest (EOI) to their local federal MP. MPs will nominate up to 20 local projects, and invite those organisations to submit a full grant application. EOIs are open now - Each federal electorate runs their own EOI process, with their own due dates. All MP's will close EOIs before November 30, 5pm.
Scout Groups are not eligible to apply for this grant alone - You must apply with Scouts Victoria as your 'Project Sponsor'
What Projects Are Eligible?
A wide range of grant projects are eligible in the Stronger Communities Grant Programme - Round 10. Grants between $2,500 and $20,000 are available. Up to 100% of project costs can be covered by the Programme (meaning no financial contribution is required from your Group). Maximum project cost is $50,000 and all projects must be completed by March 31, 2028. You must not start your project prior to submitting your stage two application, and your project must take place in your local electorate.
- Your project must meet the project outcomes, and align with one or more of the program objectives (Program Guidelines - Section 2.2)
- Your project must be considered an eligible grant activity (Program Guidelines - Section 5)
You must read the program guidelines yourself to fully understand how the program works and what projects are eligible. If you are applying for a property improvement project, you may wish to contact the Property Team on

Webinar
We will be hosting a webinar on October 7 at 7pm to help Groups understand what is the Stronger Communities Grant Programme, what projects are eligible, and how they can apply. The webinar will run on Teams. All Groups applying for a Stronger Communities grant are encouraged to send a representative.
EOI Processes by Electorate
To help save your Group some time we have contacted the offices of federal MPs across Victoria to find out about your local EOI processes. Find your electorate in the list below for information on how and when to submit an EOI, or contact your local MP's office directly.
Many MPs are running information sessions for their local organisations about how to apply for the Stronger Communities Grant Programme. Check your local MPs website and social media to see if they are running a session. If they are, we strongly encourage a representative from your Group to attend.
