Scouts Victoria Extranet Two Factor Authentication

Extranet 2 Factor Authentication

Extranet 2 Factor Authentication

What is 2 FA and why is important?

Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) can also be referred to as multiple factor authentication. This feature adds an additional layer of security to an online platform. The first level of protection is your username and password. This additional step of authentication makes it harder for an unauthorized person to access your account specially in the event where your password has been compromised.

You will get the 2FA screen below when you successfully sign in the Extranet. There are 3 options for you to identify yourself. 1. Send a verification code to your email address, 2. Use of an authenticator app or 3. Answer a security question personal to you.
